Included in: Included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Above three hundred seats, the product is Defender for Endpoint Plan 1 or Plan 2.
Who needs it
- Organisations under three hundred users on Business Basic or Standard that want real endpoint protection without moving everyone to Premium.
- Anyone whose cyber-insurance questionnaire asks about EDR.
- Companies that have had one mailbox or laptop compromised and do not want a second.

Is this the same as Defender for Endpoint?
It is built on the same engine and portal, with the enterprise Plan 2 capabilities that matter to a small estate; the difference is the seat cap and a simpler set-up.
Do we need it if we have Business Premium?
No. Business Premium includes it. Buy it standalone only for users on Basic or Standard.
Does it cover servers?
Servers are licensed separately with Defender for Business servers; ask and we will price them alongside.
