Open Value · agreement ending
At the end of the term the licences are yours and Software Assurance stops. Whatever you do next — renew SA, add licences, move some of it to CSP, or simply pay less — has to be signed before the end date, and it can be signed with any reseller, not only the one who sold the original. That is why the audit is free.
What you get, before you decide
Bring the agreement number and the licence summary from the Volume Licensing Service Center; we do the rest.
What is on it, what is still used, what Software Assurance has brought and what it would bring next term: version rights, licence mobility, failover, Azure Hybrid Benefit. Licences nobody uses come off; people who could be on a cheaper edition are named.
Software Assurance renewal at our price, 5% below Microsoft ERP, per line, for the licences worth keeping on SA; step-ups where an edition has become the wrong one; new lines for growth.
For each workload, what the same thing costs as a CSP subscription or one-payment perpetual licence, and what you give up. Some of it usually moves; rarely all of it.
Timing: under 30 days to expiry, we start with the renewal so nothing lapses and optimise afterwards; one to three months, everything at once; more than three, the audit first and the quote when the renewal prices are published.
